November 10th, 2015 BD Loops celebrates the sale of their 800th E-Z Detector Checker since it emerged into the market in 2003. For over 12 years, the E-Z Checker has helped installers troubleshoot faulty loop systems. The handy testing tool has continued to rise in popularity throughout the years because of its ease of use
The E-Z Detector Checker is a fully functional loop that fits in your hand and using it to test your loop system is as easy as 1 -2 -3. One, you simply hook it up in place of the currently installed loop to begin troubleshooting your system. Two, the device has an LED light that lights up if the loop is being energized by the detector, which allows you to determine if the detector/harness wiring is sending power to the loop. Three, with a press of the red button you can simulate a loop trip, and determine if the detector is functioning properly and make sure the gate operator is responding to the detector's command.
After going through the three simple steps, you can pinpoint where the loop circuit is failing, whether it’sthe detector, circuit board, or harness wiring. If all of the components are working properly, then the inductance loop in the ground is the likely culprit. Faulty loops can’t be fixed and are the most difficult component of loop systems to replace, so why test them first? By testing the easy to replace components of a loop system first, you can save yourself time, money and trouble.
The E-Z Detector Checker can do more than just troubleshoot loop systems. Some gate operators manufacturers even the device as a way to meet their Quality Acceptance standards before they are shipped. Some installers also use our E-Z Detector Checker to test and set open/close limits on gate systems before the loops are installed.
The E-Z Detector Checker is available through any of BD Loops 400+ distributors, to find a distributor near you visit www.bdloops.com and click on the “Distributor Locator” tab.
