New Wood Plastic Composite Products Strengthen CertainTeed’s Position As One-Stop-Shop for Railing and Decking

(Valley Forge, Pa.) – To meet the growing demand for wood plastic composite (WPC) products, CertainTeed Corporation is introducing four new decking and railing products to its comprehensive outdoor product offering.

Through a distribution agreement with Fiberon® LLC, CertainTeed is adding EverNew® PT and EverNew 20 decking along with EverNew SpectrumTM and EverNew 20 railing to its portfolio. Each of the products offers the realistic appearance of wood in a durable, low-maintenance material and is backed by a 20-year warranty. The products boast an average recycled content of 25 percent and are resistant to insect damage, splinters and decay.

“U.S. homeowners are expected to install an estimated 2.5 million decks in 2010,” says Patti Pellock, senior marketing manager for CertainTeed’s Fence, Railing and Decking business. “By expanding our portfolio of products, we are ensuring our customers are well equipped with a wide array of color, design and material options that will help them grow

Consisting of a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) core, EverNew PT composite decking features patent-pending PermaTechTM surface technology that encapsulates the core and provides for unparalleled stain, fade and scratch resistance. The product is backed by a 20-year stain and fade warranty and is available in Bronze and Slate colors as well as Rosewood Tropics, which emulates exotic hardwood tones.

Designed to complement EverNew PT decking, EverNew Spectrum composite railing incorporates a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) based wood plastic composite core with a weatherable polymer captstock. With classic style and design versatility, Spectrum has a flat-top rail and square balusters that can be installed square or diagonally. The railing is offered in White, Black, Bronze and Rosewood/Brick.

EverNew 20 composite decking is manufactured using a HDPE core and offers the natural, rugged appearance of wood without the need to stain or paint. EverNew 20 railing can be used in conjunction with the decking for a polished, finished look. Both decking and railing products are available in Gray, Brown and Cedar colors, which coordinate flawlessly with today’s popular exterior home colors and natural surroundings.

The new composite railing and decking products join a variety of high-performance, low-maintenance products offered by CertainTeed including Oxford, Edgewood™, Kingston, Panorama® and Durham™ railing systems, EverNew Vinyl Decking, EverNew LT Cellular PVC Decking, Certa-Snap® Post Wrap System, and structural porch posts and columns.
